DJ Biography

DJ R1 born on june 16th 1978 in queens ny. Started djing at the age of 14. With a colombian background there wasnt much for r1 to listen to besides cumbia vallenatos and hard core colombian salsa. He grew a love for hip hop in the late 80’s. Artist as krs one gangstarr kool g rap ect.. Grabbed his attention. There was one thing that really always caught his eye was the dj in the background. He would focus on those shinny technics 1200’s in every video he would watch. His goal was to have a pair of those 1200’s to make music come to life in his own style. Years went by and those shinny pair of 1200’s would be the only thing he would pay attention to. As he would collect 12 inch vinyls technoligy would bring foward some thing call a cd player. Opening up his love for music and listening to 2 dj’s johnny famulary and norty cotto he grew love for latin music. To be able to mix latin music on cd’s was new thing to do and be able to play for a mature and latin croud was another love he had on his mind. Years went by he was able to rock parties where hip hop and latin music were being played something that a lot of dj’s werent able to do.

In the late 90’s having a large collections of white lable records, hip hop singles, to mixao cd’s along with having those shinny 1200’s and denon cd player. There was nothing that can stop this young man. Block parties private parties and some clubs was something that DJ R1 did not want to ever let go.

In the early 2000 DJ R1 made move to south florida where he made a name for hime self. With the whole reggaeton scene taken over the air waves. Him and a friend of his started a night called reggaeton thursdays. From there on he made a name for him self in west palm beach florida. Promoter from all of south florida had there eye on DJ R1. Artist would come to florida and would request for a dj and DJ R1 was the name they would bring up. He has been requested and djed for artist such as pitbull, ivy queen, baby rasta, vico c, projecto uno, zion y lennox, sean kingston, nore and beenie man.

DJ R1 one was brought to the attention of lmp’s ceo / president “dominican leche” by a former lmp member dj by the name of dj lil jay rmx. Lmp’s president gave DJ R1 a chance to prove him self with mixes for a the website ur visting now Lomaximoproductions.com.

DJ R1 has be from FL to nyc traveling doing show and even djing one of the biggest event in the whole united states, the dominican parade. Leche gave this dj the chance to prove him self to over 3 million viewing and attending this event.
